Congratulations to the MI Burn U11 01 Girls team, coached by Chris Graczyk, for winning the U11 Bronze Bracket at the Brunswick Fall Classic Nov. 2011.  The girls were undefeated, winning the championship game 3-1.
Congratulations to the MI Burn U14 98 Black for placing 2nd at the 2011 Waza Genesee Cup.  Job Well Done!
Congratulations to the U8 Boys 04 Black Team for their "3rd" tournament victory this spring at the 2011 Romeo Peach-fest. Keep up all the hard work!!!
Congratulations to the Michigan Burn 03 Black Girls for a fantastic weekend of Soccer at the 2011 Romeo Peach-fest. The girls worked hard and walked away with the first place trophy. Well done and keep up the good work.
Congratulations to the MI Burn O2 Boys Black for another impressive display of soccer at the 2011 Genesee Cup.  The boys placed second playing up into the U11 Division.  A talented U11 Grosse Pointe team provided an exciting final game with a final score of 1-0.  Great job team!!
Congratulations to the U10 MI Burn 02 Team for placing second in the 2011 Michigan Challenge Cup.  This was the first tournament for these boys playing 8v8 and they performed rather well.  Keep your eye on this "Team" as this should be an exciting season.
The MI Burn 01 Black impressed many parents and spectators as they displayed great soccer skills, teamwork and sportsmanship winning the Romeo Peach Festival.  The team scored 27 goals in 4 games while not conceding a goal the entire tournament.  Congratulations to all the players and parents!
Congratulations to the MI Burn U12 Girls 00 Black for winning the 2011 Waza Genesse Cup U13 Lower Division!
The MI Burn 04 Black U8 Girls team goes undefeated at the Waza Genesee Cup to win their 2nd tournament of the fall season!
After a 1-1 tie against the PSG Gators 95 Orange in the opening game of the tournament, the MI Burn 95 girls were able to defeat the talented Gators team in the Championship game 201 to claim the Genesee Cup.  Congratulations to all the girls for winning their first tournament of the season!

Congratulations to the U8 Boys 04 Black Team for an exciting weekend at the 2011 Waza Genesee Cup.  They displayed fantastic soccer skills and brought much viewing pleasure to not only our 'Burn' families, but spectators passing by as well.  Keep up all your hard work!

Congratulations to the MI BURN ’01 Black Team for winning the 2010 Waza Cup!  With very intense summer heat influencing the quality of the play, and only 7 players playing, our U-10 boys coached by Joe Gallagher, won in the finals against a very good and determined FC Nova team. Good luck in the 2010 MYSL Fall Season!

The MI Burn U17 Girls went 3-0-1 to win the Waza Genesee Cup August 28-29th 2010. The girls performed at a high level in all 4 games only giving up 1 goal the entire tournament.  Congratulations to all the girls on a great weekend of soccer!

Congratulations to MI Burn 01 Black Team on wining 2010 Canton Cup U-9 competition. The boys performed at an outstanding level and received accolades from the tournament organizers and spectators. Congratulations!

Congratulations to the Michigan Burn 02 U8 Black Team for Winning the Canton Cup over Memorial Day Weekend. Job Well Done!!
Congratulations to the Michigan Burn U-9 Red Team for finishing 2nd in the Novi Jaguar Invitational over Mothers Day Weekend. Despite the high winds on Saturday morning, the boys muscled through the Force FC Black Team 4-0. The evening game didn’t go as planned and the Novi Jaguars came out fighting scoring 3 unanswered goals defeating Michigan Burn 0-3. It was amazing to see what a little sleep and positive thinking did, as the Burn was determined to make it into the finals and proved it with a 5-0 victory over the Kalamazoo King Cobra’s. Michigan Burn faced the Novi Jag’s on Sunday afternoon in the finals and what a game it was. After a fierce battle up and down the field, the Novi Jag’s scored the only goal in the game. Congratulations to Steve,Nick,Will,LB,Kevin,Noah,Jack,Jarret,Jason,Sam, and Coach Kevin.
Congratulations to the MI Burn U12 Girls for winning the GVSU Indoor Tournament. The girls played up in the U13 division beating the Grosse Pointe Breakers U13 girls in a dramatic sudden death shootout. Congrats to Coach Sikorski and the girls on a great weekend of soccer!
Congratulations to the MI Burn 00 Black for winning the Vardar Elite Cup! The girls went undefeated in the tournament scoring 15 goals and only giving up only 2 in 4 games. In their first major tournament, the girls displayed great teamwork and determination in taking home the Vardar Cup! 

Congratulations to The MI Burn 00 Black team for finishing 1st at the Vardar-Elite Cup, August 21-23, 2009. The U-10 MI Burn team competed in the U-11 Premier division and was undefeated. The MI Burn 00 Black team defeated a very good team from Ohio (OP Eagles Green Dublin) 8-2 in the finals. The team outscored opponents 32-8 over the weekend. Thanks to all the parents for making it a great weekend!

In their first major soccer tournament, all players showed determination, passion and considerable soccer skills. The team took on and beat Vardar Elite, Rush Northville Nike and PSG FC Nova 01 Black to make their way into the finals of the Vardar-Elite Cup. The future looks very promising for this great, young team!

Midland Invitational Tournament.  We came in second place to Muskegon Lakers (3-0-1) only by goal differential.  Great job guys!

             Winners of the Blue Chip Hammer Cup!
Congratulations to the MI Burn U11 Girls on winning the Blue Chip Hammer Cup in Cincinnati Ohio April 4th-5th. The girls demonstrated an impressive display of soccer, defeating some of the top ranked teams in the region. The girls had to open the tournament by playing the #3 ranked team in Ohio, #11 in Region 2, Classics Hammer FC. The girls swept through the strong Ohio team by a score of 3-0. The girls continued on Saturday by defeating Knoxville Crush from Knoxville Tennessee later that afternoon by a score of 12-0. In the first game on Sunday, the girls continued with an arsenal of goals by defeating Worthington Crew Jrs 9-1. The Championship game brought a long awaited rematch between the MI Burn and Ohio Premier. The #2 ranked team in Ohio and current #9 ranked team in the region, previously defeated the MI Burn 2 years ago at the Adidas Warrior Classic in a tough fought contest. This Championship game proved to tell a different story as a much improved and determined MI Burn team dominated the entire final game. Proving why they are ranked #3 in the Region and #2 in the state of Michigan, the girls defeated Ohio Premier by a score of 2-0 to win the Blue Chip Hammer Cup!

U10 Girls Team Undefeated at 2008 Romeo Peachfest

Congratulations to the MI Burn U10 Girls on going 3-0 at the Romeo Peachfest! The girls defeated Oxford 9-2, Rochester Lightning 5-2 and Royal Oak 9-2. This was the first time any of these girls have played together, Congratulations girls!


U13 Boys Teams Take 1st Place at 2008 Romeo Peachfest

The Michigan Burn U13 Black team and the Michigan Burn U13 Gold team both won the Romeo Peach Festival Tournament over Labor Day weekend!
The Black team conquered the Gold division by beating NMSC 8-0 in the Championship game on Sunday. The Gold team won the Silver division by defeating Fraser 3-1 in the Championship game.

Congratulations to all the U13 players!!


U9 Boys "Magnificent Seven" are Undefeated at
2008 Romeo Peachfest

Congratulations to "The Magnificent Seven" - MI Burn U9 Boys Black ! They took the 1st place in their age group winning all games decisively with tenacious defense and overwhelming offense. In all games, they allowed only 2 goals and scored 32 great goals.

U7/U8 Boys Impress at 2008 Romeo Peachfest

Congratulations to the MI Burn U7/U8 Boys! The team played up in the Romeo Peachfest U9 division and competed well with no subs. Finishing with 1 win and 2 losses was quite impressive for this very young first year team!

U11 Girls Take 1st Place at Vardar Nike Cup

Congratulations to the MI Burn U11 Girls on winning the Vardar Nike Cup in the U11/U12 Girls Division!!

After beating the Waza U12 Royal team at 4:35 pm on Sunday 4-1, the MI Burn Girls took a 50 minute break only to step right back on the field and face a fast and skillful Waza 98 team. After a 1-1 tie at half time, the girls capitalized on a beautiful free kick and found the strength and energy to hold off the powerful attack of the speedy Waza team.

Congrats to the girls for being crowned the Champions of the Vardar Nike Cup!!

U9 Boys Take 2nd Place at Michigan Rush Kick-Off

Congratulations MI Burn U9 Boys!  They played an exciting final game which was tied in regulation and overtime was needed to decide the winner.  Playing the final game in intense heat - with only 7 players - MI Burn U9 Boys lost in overtime but they deserve all accolades for a great effort and 2nd place finish.

MI Burn Players Find Success at the College Level:
Sisters and Former Teammates will compete against each other this Fall.

Natalie and Jessica Behnke, (Sienna Heights University) along with Chelsea Meador and Emily Behnke (Schoolcraft College) will face each other this Fall on the pitch as former MI Burn players find success at the next level.

SHU Women's Soccer Adds Jessica Behnke to Recruiting Class

ADRIAN, Mich. – Jessica Behnke has signed a letter of intent to join the Siena Heights women's soccer team.

Behnke will graduate from Warren Cousino High School in Warren, Mich. this spring. After that, she will look to join the Siena Heights women’s soccer team, including older sister Natalie, who played for the Saints as a freshman last fall. Jessica is a center defender and looks to gain playing time next to Natalie who is an outside defender.

Behnke is a well decorated student-athlete at Cousino and with her Michigan Burn club team. In the classroom, she has been on the honor roll every semester of her high school career, she belongs to the National Honor Society and has been recognized on the All-Conference Academic Team. On the field some of her accolades include: All-Macomb Area Conference First Team, All-District First Team, All-County Third Team, and team Most Valuable Player. Behnke helped lead the Cousino Patriots to the 2011 MAC Blue Division championship. She also plays basketball and helped the Patriots to a 2010 district championship on the court as well.

“The school is a good fit, with a good atmosphere,” Behnke said. “I also like the team and think I will fit in well with them.”

Siena Heights coach Scott Oliver commented, “Jessica is a great addition to this program. For one, she is a very talented and decorated soccer player. Jessica is also a very bright student with great drive. She has a friendly personality, except for when you play against her. Jessica is going to be a great Saint!”


Natalie Behnke Signs With Women's Soccer

Natalie Behnke has signed a letter of intent to play soccer for Siena Heights University.

Behnke is from Warren, Michigan and Cousino High School. She played soccer for the Patriots and started for all four of her seasons high school. She has been named as a 1st team All-Macomb Area Conference play. She also received 1st team All-District honors. Typically a defender, Behnke was also named the Cousino Most Valuable Defender Award. She has been named to the Macomb Area Conference All-Academic Team four years in a row, and has been on the Principal’s List for achieving all A’s. Outside of the high school season, Behnke has played for such travel soccer teams as the Fraser Soccer Club and Vardar East. She currently plays with the Michigan Burn. While at Siena Heights Behnke will look to study in the Pre-Med program.

Behnke commented on why she picked Siena Heights, “I picked Siena Heights for the small class size and also the opportunity to play for a successful soccer team. What I like most about Siena Heights is the campus and the opportunity to meet new people.”

Siena Heights Head Coach Scott Oliver commented, “Natalie is a great signing for us. She is really fast and knows how to play the game. Natalie will give us the explosiveness that we missed last season. Off of the field, she is one of those kids that organized and gets things done.
