Speed, Agility & Quickness Training (SAQ)

CLASS DESCRIPTION

The Sports Academy SAQ team, led by Greg Jones, will help develop current youth and adult athletes with methods based upon decades of research done by pioneers in the human movement fields, using specific drills focusing on enhancing speed and conditioning as well as muscular and strength development.  There will also be workouts and classes provided for adults of all ages, to help with core development, reduce visceral and subcutaneous fat, strength and muscular development, and to improve overall fitness levels. Our goal as a team is to help develop every athlete with proper and well-researched methods to achieve the best results and the level needed to reach the next step in their potential careers. 

 

ABOUT GREG JONES

Greg Jones (born October 5, 1988) is a retired professional football player. He most recently played for the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football for Michigan State University, and was a two-time All-American. The New York Giants selected him in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL Draft, and he was a member of the Giants' Super Bowl championship team against the New England Patriots following the 2011 season. He has also played for the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennessee Titans, the CFL's Toronto Argonauts and the UFL's Las Vegas Locomotives.

 

CLASS OBJECTIVES

  • Athletes will learn and develop proper running and sprint mechanics, to help better achieve their maximal velocity, by properly applying their strength and plyometric training.
  • Core development and flexibility training.
  • An emphasis on hamstring development while training proprioception and kinesthesia sense to help reduce potential ACL (anterior cruciate ligament tears).
  • Developing power and top speed while improving aerobic and anaerobic capacity though using different training methods such as plyometrics, conventional sprint training, and strength training.   


SESSION COST

  • $130.00 for 5 weeks
  • $30.00 drop-in one class

 

2nd Session Jan 15th-February 12th

Ages 8-12, 6-7 pm • Ages 13-17, 7-8 pm, Adults 18+, 7-8 pm
